About
Thetis Lake Regional Park, established in 1958, is Canada's first nature sanctuary. It is one of the most popular and largest regional parks in the Capital Regional District, offering over 40 kilometers of recreational trails.
The park features Garry Oak and Douglas-fir forests surrounding swamp and lake ecosystems. Visitors can enjoy swimming, canoeing, and fishing in the freshwater lakes, which are stocked with Rainbow Trout. The beach areas are suitable for family picnics and refreshing swims.
Explore scenic trails around Upper and Lower Thetis Lakes, or take on more challenging paths up Seymour or Scafe Hills for views of the lakes and surrounding hills. The park also provides access to backcountry recreation and blue-rated, multi-use trails for cross-country mountain biking.
