About

Join historian Greg Scott at the Ross Bay Villa Historic House Museum for the untold story of Thomas Le Breton Roscoe. Born in Victoria in 1878, Thomas embarked on a life that took him across the world, from England to South Africa, before his tragic death at the Battle of Passchendaele during World War I.

Greg Scott, a published historian, archivist, and tour guide, has meticulously researched Thomas's life, from his birth in the master bedroom of Ross Bay Villa to his career as a schoolmaster and lawyer, and ultimately, his service in the First South African Infantry.

This presentation offers a unique opportunity to learn about a local connection to a global conflict, bringing to light the journey of a man who grew up with stories of a father he never knew and a city he barely remembered. All proceeds from this event support the volunteer-run Ross Bay Villa, a heritage restoration project and museum.
