Food Waste and Composting For Businesses in the CRD

Join the Compost Education Centre for a discussion on how businesses in the Capital Regional District can address food waste and composting practices. This free webinar is designed for business owners and employees who want to learn about managing unavoidable and avoidable food waste, such as vegetable trimmings, spent coffee grounds, and plate scrapings.

Kayla, with 10 years of experience stewarding the Compost Education Centre's demonstration gardens and composting systems, will share her expertise. She is the curator and main educator of the Adult Education Program and has consulted with many groups on composting solutions. Kayla holds a Bachelor of Environmental Studies and has extensive practical permaculture training.

The workshop will cover possibilities for avoiding food waste, processing various types of food waste sustainably and affordably, and exploring different options for onsite and offsite composting. Attendees will also learn about saving money and understanding the broader importance of these practices.
