About

New Old World Music Society presents Constantinople: Estuary, featuring Kiya Tabassian, Ablaye Cissoko, and Patrick Graham. This collaboration brings together master musicians for a unique musical experience.

Ablaye Cissoko, a master of the kora, and Kiya Tabassian, a virtuoso of the Persian setar, blend their musical memories for the third time. Their long-time accomplice, percussionist Patrick Graham, adds rhythm and subtlety to their sonic conversation.

This concert creates a captivating universe where the kora and setar intertwine their voices, suspending time and soothing the soul. It is described as a rare delight, giving birth to new traditions at the crossroads of the Middle East and Sub-Saharan Africa.
